Meet Your Hosts

Marisa Sim

Marisa is a certified trauma-informed coach, holistic health coach, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) practitioner, and trained Root-Cause Therapy practitioner.

Growing up with an emotionally unavailable mother and in a dysfunctional family in Singapore, she was a people-pleaser from a young age, and she had poor boundaries.

After leaving Singapore, Marisa spent the last ten years exploring many healing modalities, such as nutrition, yoga, breathwork, meditation, mindfulness, NLP, and coaching. She also attended many shamanic ceremonies, which gave her many insights into the meaning of life and love.

She has eight years of experience helping women and mothers look after their health and mental health, but she realised that she wasn't addressing the root cause of their health problems, which are often trauma-related.

She now supports women to heal from their childhood trauma and step into their authentic power.

Marisa lives with her husband and two kids in Zurich, Switzerland. When she is not working, she loves cycling, hiking, travelling and spending quality time with the people she loves.

Shelly Sharon

After many years of running away from her traumatic childhood, where she suffered infant starvation, emotional and physical neglect and abandonment, Shelly turned her life story on its head.

Shelly has been a professional ballet dancer, a coffeeshop owner and a sought after social change strategist and independent researcher, but it was only when she started devoting herself to intense meditation practice and Buddhist psychology studies with leading international teachers that she owned her mother wound — and her appetite for healing and serving others in healing opened up.

Shelly completed a Master’s degree in Special Education, is trained in Hakomi therapy, and offers coaching to parents to help with emotional regulation and building empowering relationships with toddlers and children. She specialises in working with women on healing the mother wound and breaking generational trauma. This she does through one-to-one sessions, workshops and a rich output of long and short-form writings.

Shelly’s a cat mum and in a loving, inspiring relationship with her soul-mate. She loves swimming in Alpine lakes, riding horses, picking wild flowers, and is always cooking delicious food enough to feed a tribe. She’s working on her first book on healing the mother wound and is the co-host of Healing the Mother Wound Summit.

You dream of finding a way to heal parts of you that hold you back and feel confident and whole.

  • Overcome feelings of self-doubt and low self-esteem
  • Move on from grieving the mother you’ve never had
  • Develop healthier relationships in life
  • Release anger, rage and other charged feelings

From efforting to rest

This is a kick-start workshop to help you start the summit balanced, nourished and resourced.

Women who've had a challenging relationship with their mother often get caught in a tendency to effort towards any desired life-experience or relationship. Sometimes even healing is approached with an attitude of making an effort.

Intertwined with the tendency to effort-ing is the self-belief that we are not enough or not doing enough. Relational wounds such as the mother wound propel us to make an effort to be seen, reinforce the mistrust that we can experience what we desire out of rest and a natural acknowledgement of the gifts we have within.

In this workshop, we will move through different somatic experiences to relax the habit to make an effort and find deep confidence in resting as a way of being.

We will set intentions in a way that will help you gain the most from the summit, by letting go of habits to exhaust yourself, preventing overwhelm and identifying how to create for yourself the best healing experience in this summit.

Cherishing the Inner Self: Creating a simple healing talisman, using nature as inspiration

Change happens cyclically, not in a straight line. As you heal and begin to come into contact with your bright, child-like, and hopeful inner self, it’s easy to become side-tracked by a shadow self that comes from the mother wound. You can become blind-sided by your attitudes towards those parts of you that feel unloved and unlovable.

In this workshop, we turn towards nature for a model of a cyclical and forgiving method of healing. We will release attitudes that can show up, such as self-hatred, avoidance and self-judgment. We turn towards nature for some of the elements to use in the workshop and you will be invited to release what you have made afterwards into nature.

Day 4 - November 10

Workshop with

Caroline Braham

 Hakomi Trainer

Healing The Mother Wound & Shame using The Hakomi Way

In this final workshop of the summit participants will be gently invited to have a loving look at shame whilst being safely held by the principles of the Hakomi method.

Hakomi offers a nurturing relational framework that can be seen as an antidote to shame caused by relational and attachment wounds. The method has gentle techniques for bringing light to unconscious beliefs about self that cause suffering, for disentangling the beliefs from experiences with the mother figure, and for reducing their power and influence.

As you can see from these amazing value-packed presentations, this is an event you do not want to miss.
